Reports
to: Chief Designer
Basic Functions:
- Responsible for producing drawings which
meet the customer's expectations in preparation
for production
- Required to gather information and produce
shop drawings for specific projects, review
drawings for accuracy, revise and update drawings
for approval by customers, and prepare drawings
for production.
- Read information and instructions, and interpret
and analyze contents from materials such as
technical reports.
- Understand "Good Engineering Practices" for
industry standards
- Contact customers for information on a project
or check with production to ensure conformity
to specifications.
- Perform computations or analyses using basic
statistical, financial, or logical concepts,
or complex mathematical concepts.
- Must support design efforts with detailed
dimensional calculations to verify configurations
and layouts.
- Responsible to meet Project deadlines and
quality goals.
- Communicate with Supervisors and Managers
on project operations.
- Prepare and interpret scale drawings, schematic
drawings, layouts and other visual aids.
Experience and Skills Required:
- High School Diploma or GED required, supplemented
by a two-year Vocational/Technical degree in
AutoCAD operations.
- 5 years of relevant Mechanical design experience
within the bulk material handling discipline
required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2-D required. Knowledge
of AutoCAD 3-D, Inventor, or Solid Works preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer
skills required.
- Work may require travel to meetings, site
visits, and inspections. This requires
the possession of a valid state drivers license.
- References from past employers with knowledge
of candidate’s capabilities may be required.
